Transfiguration Sunday

Seeing the Glory of God

.
Rev. Benjamin Van Zetten Bruins
will be preaching at Trinity on February 27.
.
“Seeing the Glory of God” | How does one see the invisible God of glory? What is glory? Paul tells the Corinthians to look at Jesus to see God, for Christ is the glory of God. In life and death, we can live with boldness because our bodies are mirrors of God’s glory too.
2 Corinthians 3:12-4:2

Morning Prayer

(Transfiguration)

Lord Jesus Christ, as morning dawns,
be our light in this new day.
Let our lives reflect your glory,
our words show forth your goodness,
and our actions shine with your grace;
in your holy name we pray. Amen.

Evening Prayer

(Transfiguration)

Lord Jesus Christ, as evening comes,
be our light and hope in darkness.
Draw near to us in grace,
surround us with your presences,
and fill us with your peace;
in your holy name we pray. Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Youth Group this Sunday | We’ll be meeting at the Klemp’s house at 2:30 pm. Depending on our mood and the weather’s mood, we’ll be playing board games and/or sledding. Bring your snow gear! Pickup is at 4 pm.

Ash Wednesday Service | You are invited to join us on March 2 to begin our Lenten journey with Ash Wednesday worship. While we will not have our traditional soup supper, we will gather in the sanctuary at 7 pm to worship together, share communion, and receive the ashes of repentance. The service will also be available on zoom, using our usual worship link.

Daily Lenten Practice | Lent is a season in which we are invited to step away from our patterns of life and prepare to step into the way of Christ. The lectionary texts for Lent this year overflow with parables and promises of God’s expansive love and grace. As part of your Lenten journey, you are invited to receive daily biblical reminders of God’s great love for you, as well as a brief prayer that you might come to live out of the grace you have received. You can choose to receive an email each day or to print a paper copy for your use. If you would like to sign up for either option…you can do so here.

Broad-Based Organizing | West Michigan Community Organizing’s Delegate Meeting has been rescheduled to March 8 at 7 pm. You are invited to attend with Trinity folks. At the meeting we will choose a name for our coalition, practice a house meeting, meet other folks engaged in organizing, and continue to build momentum toward making substantive changes in our community. Register with this link.

Email Switch & BREEZE Access | Do you know that you already have a Breeze account with Trinity? Breeze is our database for membership directory, contact information, communication, and contribution uses. You can set up your own access to your account. It’s a breeze 😉 Many of your Trinity friends have set up access and updated their contact information or photos, and accessed their giving statements. You should see an emailed invitation to set up your access. Soon, we will be using Breeze for all of our group email communication. You will get announcements, weekly resources, and prayer updates through Breeze. Please create and account, login, and make sure your email address is the one you’d like to get emails to. If you’d like, you can send Rachel an email at trcoffice@trinityreformedchurch.org.dream.website to notify us of your current or favorite email address and she will update your account.

 (Please note, you will get church emails through breeze if you are signed up for the old email list, even if you don’t create an account.)
