“Woven Through: Trees—I Am the Vine”

“Woven Through: Trees—I Am the Vine”

John 15:1-8  & Revelation 22:1-7

We’ll conclude our mini-series on Trees with Jesus’ image of himself as the true vine, in which we, God’s people, must abide if we are to bear fruit. Once again, God offers us the choice to abide and trust, or to break away from the life God offers and choose our own way. We’ll ponder what keeps us from abiding well and give thanks that Christ abides in us even in our imperfection.

 ANNOUNCEMENTS

November Potluck

On All Saints Sunday, we’ll celebrate the progression of the generations which made us who we are. Bring a dish to pass from your family history! Consider bringing a sign with you to place near your dish which tells us the name of the recipe and who it came from. We’ll join in a meal together in the Fellowship Hall after worship on November 6. (Bring along pace setting for your household.)

Annual Pumpkin Carving Party

Trinity’s intergenerational pumpkin carving party is back! On Sunday October 23rd at 3pm we’ll gather for some fall fun at Kayla and Ben Katerberg’s home (6944 Lake Bluff Dr NE Comstock Park, MI 49321).   Costumes welcome! Around 5 pm we’ll have a potluck dinner. Pack a pumpkin for each child and bring soup, bread, or dessert to share at the potluck.

All Saints Sunday
On November 6, we will celebrate All Saints Sunday together, remembering saints who have gone before us. Our liturgy will include the names of loved ones who have passed away in the last year. If you have names you would like to have included, please email Pastor Sarah (sarah@trinityreformedchurch.org).
